These instruments were designed as tools to bring people together in public space. Utilising music making as a catalyst, they are designed to create mutual enjoyment and simultaneous joyful interactions, to lift people into a similar mental states.
Whilst sustainable development also promotes interdependence and a sense of world citizenship, social and cultural diversity need not be a source of conflict. Rather, recognising the importance of diversity can help us to focus on humanity's capacity to work together to meet the enormous environmental and social challenges we are facing.
